Today I am sharing about one of my favorite parts about the wedding day that most of my couples do… FIRST LOOKS! I am so excited to share just how AWESOME they are! I feel like a lot of people get caught up in how "un-traditional" first looks are, that they immediately write them off. I am hear to tell you just how great they actually are!
While I love first look's so much, I always encourage brides to do what they want to do. I would never pressure someone do a first look if it was not something they were interested in. However, I just want to share all the benefits of a first look. There's a reason majority of my couples choose this option and LOVE it!
1. The bride wants to see a REACTION from the groom. Most brides are really hoping to get a reaction from their groom when they see them for the first time. When your groom see's you for the first time at the ceremony, he's not able to hug you, talk to you, or tell you how beautiful you look. It seem's like you have to wait forever until the ceremony is over until you get that chance. Most guys are so nervous with so many people watching him, that they don't always react. With a first look, he has the chance to see you alone, to hug you, and express his true feelings!
2. You will receive MORE images in your gallery. With a first look, you will actually receive more images in your gallery. Right after your first look, we can move right into portraits. At this point, no one is around, and we can quickly move into getting pictures done! At this point there is so much excitement and joy, that we get the most real emotions. After those portraits are done, we can move right into bridal party photo's. Everyone will be able to have a great time and we won't have to worry about rushing!
3. It diminishes all the nerves. With first looks, all the nerves go away. You get to spend time together before you get married, how great is that? Instead of waiting around for hours until you see each other, you get to meet up privately and see one another before you get married! Now you won't be so nervous during the ceremony, because you will have already gotten to see each other.
Again, I would never pressure anyone into doing a first look if they were not interested. I just hope this helps you decide whether you would want to do a first look or not! Your wedding day should always be the way you envisioned it to be. I always want the BEST for my couples on their wedding day! I just want to make sure you know all the benefits of a first look too!
